Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park has a bit of history mixed with a lot of recreation. Located on Tenth Avenue South this park is the home to the historic Pioneer cabin. The cabin was an original building on the Joe Kuebelbeck farm near Cold Spring. The cabin was dismantled, log by log, and moved to Cold Spring's Pioneer Park, where it was reassembled and restored to its original construction. This historic building is a fine addition to the park and provides a glimpse of the pioneer history to Pioneer Park visitors.

In addition to this historical feature there are many options for recreation at Pioneer Park. The park boasts the offerings of a variety of sports, including a baseball diamond, little league park, tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court, two hockey rinks, and one figure skating rink. The Park also has two playground systems with a variety of slides and swings for the youngsters to climb about on.   In addition, they also have a fenced in area for a dog park (YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PICK UP YOUR DOGS WASTE AND DISPOSE OF IT PROPERLY).

In the winter months cold weather sports enthusiasts can be found on the three ice rinks in Pioneer Park. Each winter the City Maintenance crews take on the task of flooding the rinks to provide an ice surface. Broomball, ice skating and hockey can be enjoyed on these ice rinks. The warming house is also open in the winter for chilled bodies to thaw in before heading back into the cool Minnesota winter weather.
